Sproat Lake Landing Resort

The manager is super nice. The hot water heater broke down the day we were there. He immediately informed us and bought us goodies from the adjacent shop.

We only had one night at the Sproat Lake Landing Resort. We wish we had more time and felt well enough to enjoy the full experience. The staff was warm and helpful. The views of the lake and mountain were unbelievable. We did have to swim in the lake but not for kayaking or paddleboarding. The rooms were very nice and comfortable with an excellent shower and closet space. We were late to eat dinner, so we can't really provide an accurate review of the restaurant, but it was certainly an excellent surroundings and staff. The menu was limited by the time we ate. They are not open every night of the week. This is a smallish hotel, so there aren't a ton of rooms, but all are very nice. Due to the size parking is easily available and close to your room.

Amazing location, inmediate and private access to the lake with gorgeous views. The room was nice, however the carpet could use to be cleaned as you can tell it hasn't been washed for a while. Thefood at the restaurant was really good, however they have very few options to chose from. They closed it one day due to lack of staff and it's usually just open for dinner after 5pm. They should have it available from early morning since it's the only place to have something decent to eat besides the coffee store next to the hotel where they only have sandwiches. Staff in general are super nice. The deck to the lake could also use some renovations.

We had a great stay. The views from the dock are spectacular! I enjoyed kayaking early in the morning. The lake was so peaceful and beautiful. Our room was in great condition as was the entire property. I wish we would have stayed a whole week instead of just one night.

We stayed here on our way to Tofino from Victoria to break up the drive across Vancouver Island. Sproat Lake is located about 20 minutes from Port Alberni, where you’ll find many hotels but it was a busy time of year and there was no vacancy in town so we opted to stay here instead. The hotel rooms were clean, comfortable and quiet… though quite pricey. The front desk has very limited hours as do the on site restaurant and cafe. You’ll have to coordinate with the people managing the property if you’ll arrive outside of the hours so that someone can let you in. Staff were very friendly and helpful, property is located on Sproat Lake, they do have a few canoes and kayaks to borrow, though you may have to bring your own life jacket. It was pouring rain when we arrived so we didn’t venture out to the lake while we were there except to walk on the boardwalk to have a look. The hotel was average, the price was quite high. But we had a good sleep there and that was the main purpose of our stay.

Excellent place to cut the road in two between Victoria and Tofino. Clean, kind people, nice balcony on the Lake. Need to know that they do not offer breakfast.
