Maritim Hotel Amelia - Luxury Ultra All Inclusive

Overall a nice experience, but had better all inclusive at 4 stars on Bulgarian sea side (eg Grifid Encanto in Golden Sands is 4 stars but provides a better overall experience). The only things that are 5 stars are the size of the rooms and the Nespresso machines in the rooms. It is unacceptable that you can only have machine/tap sodas in a 5 stars “Premium Ultra All Inclusive” - bottled are non existent and you even have to pay for canned ones. Positives: - the cleanliness; - the animation team; - the staff; - the rooms; - the pool and the aqua-park; - the beach; - the opportunity to have a late checkout for a reasonable price; - the deserts in the lobby bar. The negatives: - poor choice and variety of food, except the appetizers that are indeed luxurious (eg caviar&french cheese); - poor quality of drinks; - the afternoon snacks are a joke: on one day you can have some non eatable burgers and sausages, on other days you can have some frozen pizzas; - for 300 euros per night plus transportation you get much more&better in Antalya, Turkey.

Bij onze aankomst in Hotel Amelia in Albena op 7 augustus werden we meteen geconfronteerd met een gebrek aan informatie. Bij het inchecken werd ons niet verteld over de verschillende faciliteiten waar we gebruik van konden maken. Zo hoorden we pas later dat we recht hadden op gratis fietsverhuur, toegang tot de tennisbaan, en een gratis lunch of diner in een aangrenzend restaurant. Er werd ook niet duidelijk gemaakt welke ligbedden op het strand bij Hotel Amelia hoorden. Eigenlijk moesten we alles zelf ontdekken, inclusief het feit dat we gebruik konden maken van de fitnessruimte, sauna en het stoombad in het aangrenzende Hotel Maritim Paradise Blue. Helaas stuitten we bij het gebruik van deze faciliteiten op meerdere problemen. Het stoombad was buiten gebruik, en de fitnessruimte had verschillende mankementen. De fitnessapparaten misten allemaal een pin om het gewicht te verstellen, waardoor er slechts twee pinnen beschikbaar waren voor zes apparaten. Dit betekende dat, zelfs als een apparaat vrij was, je jouw oefening niet kon uitvoeren als het druk was. Onze ervaring werd verder verslechterd door een incident op het strand, waar we onvriendelijk werden behandeld door een medewerker die verantwoordelijk was voor de strandbedden. Deze medewerker beschuldigde ons van liegen en reserveerde continu ligstoelen voor zijn eigen vrienden, terwijl betalende gasten zoals wij geen prioriteit kregen. Dit gedrag weerspiegelt een gebrek aan klantvriendelijkheid dat we gedurende ons verblijf hebben ervaren. Het hotel zelf biedt weinig variatie in het eten. Er zijn geen penen of bladsalades te vinden, en fruit en desserts worden slecht aangevuld. Bovendien reserveert de directeur van het hotel tafels op het terrasbalkon van het restaurant voor zijn eigen vrienden, terwijl gasten die 300 euro per nacht betalen niet dezelfde service krijgen. Wat entertainment betreft, waren er amper shows in het hotel zelf. In plaats daarvan werd er vooral gebruik gemaakt van algemene shows die plaatsvinden op het strand van Albena. Dit draagt bij aan het gevoel dat Hotel Amelia minder biedt in vergelijking met andere hotels in de omgeving. Een van de weinige positieve aspecten van ons verblijf was de schoonmaak; deze werd netjes verzorgd en de schoonmaaksters waren zeer beleefd. Al met al voldeed Hotel Amelia niet aan onze verwachtingen en biedt het niet de service die je van een vijfsterrenhotel zou verwachten. Op het moment van schrijven zitten we hier nog tot 19 augustus, maar als je moet kiezen tussen de hotels in deze omgeving, is Hotel Maritim Paradise Blue een betere optie, zelfs als je zelf voor je lunch moet betalen. Amelia schiet tekort op bijna alle fronten.

Wir hatten einen tollen Aufenthalt und haben die Zeit sehr genossen. Es hat an nichts gefehlt. Sehr leckeres Frühstücksbuffet und das Abendessen (auch Buffet) war reichhaltig .. alles herzlichst zubereitet inkl. frischen Obst und Gemüse. Die Zimmer waren glatte 5***** , sehr freundliches, geschultes Personal, das ganze Team toll ist - vom Hotelmanager bis Rezeption, Housekeeping, Restaurant ---＞ man merkt, hier ist der Kunde noch im Mittelpunkt und Gast , vielen Dank. Das war unsere erste Reise nach Bulgarien , wir werden nächstes Jahr wieder kommen Beste Grüße aus Hamburg ... macht weiter so !! Ralf

In august 2023 I chose Maritim Amelia, again. We had room 318, overlooking the garden....I had originally booked a room with a view to the park, but the hotel staff told me (by e-mail) that those rooms are not renovated and are smaller. Although I was on my second visit, they asked me for a rather large difference for the upgrade, the difference I paid through the agency. At the reception I had the unpleasant surprise of being told that they were offering me a better room "for free" even though I had already paid 400 euros for that room through the agency. When I told them that I made this payment because that's what I was told by the hotel's Public Relations Service......they didn't comment anymore. Room 318 was elegant and clean at first, then the maid started coming around 3, 4 p.m. when we were resting. Normally she only takes our bins and changes our towels. She did not use the vacuum cleaner, she didn't wash the floor in the bathroom during our stay. The food was very good and varied, the restaurant clean and quite spacious. The drinks in the all inclusive system were much more and more diverse than at Easter. I felt the lack of a bar on the beach but it wasn't bad either that I came all the way to the pool. Large and clean beach and countless sunbeds....the sunbeds in rows 1 and 2 were paid. Although they were new and very good, they were roughed up and treated by those who were busy gathering and arranging them..... some had even started to crack because they were roughed up The location is very good and Albena is excellent especially for families with children and the elderly. The hotel is very good and clean and elegant. I would suggest, however, that the staff at the Reception be more in collaboration with those from the Reservations Service so that there are no more unpleasant misunderstandings. 400 Euro difference for upgrading for those who book the second, third time, etc.).....Inadmissible!

I was with my family for two weeks, the food was amazing, there was show cooking station, the barthenders were amazing and very polite, made us some wonderful cocktails, the pools were very good and the rooms were perfect - comfortable bed, big TV, big bathroom with every furniture new. The staff is polite and helpfull. Perfect destination to relax.

We really enjoyed our holiday in Albena, at Amelia hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful. They were expecting guests to check in with a glass of champagne. The room was spacious and beautiful and the bed was comfortable and huge. The food was delicious and we could also enjoy our meals on the two terraces of the restaurant, which was very elegant and offered an incredibly wide range of options. One of the chefs, Violeta, who was very kind and attentive, prepared some delicacies for us. The dessert also was exquisite and very good coffee. The hotel is very close to the beach which is also very clean.
