Aitutaki Seaside

Ganz ehrlich: wir haben diese Unterkunft sehr geliebt! Mein Mann und ich waren 10 Tage auf Aitutaki und haben den Aufenthalt in den Aitutaki Seaside Bungalows sehr genossen! Die Bungalows sind gut ausgestattet mit allen nützlichen Küchenhelfern, die man braucht - sogar eine French Press war vorhanden (den gemahlenen Kaffee zu bekommen war allerdings schwierig - lediglich bei Tinas 24Std Supermarkt hatten wir Erfolg). Wir haben den Kühlschrank am Anfang gut gefüllt, jeden Morgen Brötchen im Ofen gebacken und auf der Terrasse in aller Ruhe gefrühstückt! Die Terrasse ist schön groß, hat einen Tisch und zwei Stühle, sowie 2 Liegen und 2 Auflagen.. Man hat einen Aufgang nach hinten hin zum Parkplatz und eine Treppe nach vorne zum Meer. Am hinteren Aufgang befindet sich sogar eine Außendusche. Das haben wir als Kitesurfer viel genutzt um das Salzwasser und den Sand von Material, Neopren, Lycras und Schnorchelausrüstung abzuspülen. Oben auf der Terrasse sind 2 Leinen gespannt und Wäscheklammern vorhanden, um nasse Sachen zu trocknen. Die Insektenschutzgitter an den Fenstern sind leider alle etwas defekt und schützen nicht so richtig zu 100 % vor Mücken (giftige Insekten gibts es ja zum Glück nicht). Aber zu unserer Zeit war es auch nicht so sehr mückenlastig - das soll zu manchen Zeiten eine Plage sein. Wir hatten Insektenspray für Körper und Kleidung mit, haben es aber zum Glück selten gebraucht. Kleiner Tipp: Ameisendosen mitnehmen – falls man mal irgendwo ein Krümelchen liegen lässt, hat man ruckzuck eine Ameisenstraße . da helfen die Dosen sehr. Das Bett ist leider etwas schaukelig - wir haben es aber geschafft, uns 10 Tage damit gut zu arrangieren. Die Klimaanlage haben wir nur selten benutzt, da wir angenehmes Wetter hatten, um abends ein bisschen Durchzug zu machen und bei ca. 23/24 Grad gut zu schlafen. Die Klimaanlage funktioniert gut und ist auch angenehm leise. Einen Kleiderschrank gib es nicht, aber ein paar Ablagen und eine kleine Stange mit 5 Bügeln. Die Bungalows haben eine sehr schöne Lage zum Strand, direkt vor den Bungalows stehen sehr malerisch einige Palmen. Es gibt aber trotzdem eine gute Durchsicht aufs Meer. Man kann bis auf das Außerriff gucken und die Kajaks nutzen, um etwas zu paddeln. Auch Schnorchels ist direkt vor den Bungalows möglich - allerdings ist es zu Ebbe-Zeit sehr flach - fürs Paddeln und Schnorcheln eignet sich mehr die Zeit des Hochwassers. Achtung: Viele Seegurken! Und bitte gut auf die Korallen Acht geben! Die Lage ist in der Nähe vom Flughafen - es gehen allerdings nur wenige kleine Flieger am Tag - man hört und sieht davon kaum etwas. Ein fahrbarer Untersatz ist hilfreich, weil die Supermärkte und Restaurants sich nicht in Laufweite befinden. Wir hatten ein Auto (um unser Kitesurfmaterial zu transportieren), ein Roller ist aber auch o.k. für die kurzen Entfernungen. Parkplätze sind vorhanden. Tearoa was fantastic! Villa was right on the beach very private… 5 mins away from Aitutaki airport Even though we hired a car we were greeted at the airport with Neck Eis we then followed Tearoa back to the accommodation settled in then took a tour of the island

Nothing short of paradise. The small number of villas made it feel very secluded and quiet. Perfect beach set up right at your doorstep. Accomodation was clean, tidy and well looked after. The manager was lovely, very welcoming and a pleasure to share a chat. We will definitely be back!!!!

The view from Aitutaki Seaside is the best on the Island. We scootered around the whole island at different times of the day and evening and Aitutaki Seaside view was the best. The beach is fantastic and the lagoon is wonderful at low and high tides. Walk straight out of your lodge, across the beach, into the lagoon and see fish swimming around the coral, snorkle at high tide and walk around at low tide. Grab one of the complimentary kayaks and paddle out around the lagoon, jump out and snorkle anywhere in the lagoon to see fish, starfish, coral etc. Just as beautiful as taking a trip out to the motus. Being on the Western side the sunsets are marvellous. We stayed 13 nights and the sunset was different every night. The manager, Tearoa, was extremely helpful from the time we booked until we flew out. Airport pickup and dropoff, arranging scooter hire at a great price, explaining how things work. Clear and quick communication when I had questions. She took us to the local shops when we arrived so that we could get basic supplies. Being on the West side of the island, the lodge is conveniently located to go to every part of the island. Nothing is far away but I recommend scooter or car hire. The kitchen has basic cooking utensils which is all we needed.

We loved staying in this self contained unit. It was right on the lagoon and short walking distance to great snorkeling spots. The unit had everything we needed to cook our own meals and to BBQ on the beach. It was 5 min- 15 min scooter ride from all the cafes/ restaurants we wanted to go to. Tearoa was our host and she was fabulous from picking us up from the airport, organising a scooter, taking us to the shops to sort our food and then returning us to the airport after our five day stay. We were even given beautiful lei's on arrival and departure. The only down side was the bed was very very soft so I didn't find it very comfortable. It would also have been nice but not necessary to have somewhere to hand our clothes rather than keeping them in the suitcase.

A beautiful spot right on the beach. Our host was great even gave us a very generous late check out time. Great unit especially for couples. Great sunset and views of the lagoon with good snorkeling. Would definitely come again
