Oliaria Apartments

This apartment is located in a very quiet street of Platanias, surrounded by the tranquillity of a beautiful olives field . It allows to visit the south west of Crete, including Chania which is at 15 mins driving. There are a lot of buses that stop in the surrounds, connecting the location to Chania. The surrounding have a lot of services, including a little food store at 2 mins walking, Lidl and Sinka supermarket at 5 minutes driving. Beach is at 4 mins walking. There is a lot of nightlife with a kitsch-type of tourism: lot of souvenirs' stores and touristic restaurants. The Oliaria's Residence has 6 apartments, mine was the number 3 which has two wide rooms with a beautiful terrace very sunny during the day. Forniture works but electric stoves can boil small amounts of water. Bed are very comfortable and also the pillows. I have received a single sheet for a double bed but this is not important to me; strange only. The most uncomfortable part of the house is the bathroom, which needs improvement, especially the shower: you can choose whether to stick the curtain on you (and it is not the best because it is old and turned brownish due to the dirt) or if you pour the water in the whole bathroom. There are no rags or mops available for drying, so you will need to keep the bathroom flooded. There isn't the part that holds the shower head, so you will need to wash with the shower head in your hand. It’s something so obvious that I was going to go to a Chinese shop and getting it for them. No mosquito nets and many stink bugs would come in as soon as I turned on the light. I gave up and we lived together. Discreet communication but poor flexibility of the people who manage the structure; I did not understand why, despite the check out was at 12, I was kicked out already at 11 because they had received a last minute booking. Mrs Angela came and told me I had to leave, showing me an email with a reservation from her phone. I was working and she took my suitcase to take it to her basement, asking me to work from there. A ridiculous thing, never happened in my life. Prepayment in cash, no receipt. When I arrived, I didn’t have any cash at that moment and Angela didn’t trust me in giving the keys, not even under my proposal to give her a document. I had to go to withdraw, at noon, with 40 degrees, on foot. Ridiculous twice. So, to sum up, location ok, while apartment needs to re-decorate, basically ok to spend a few days in "wild bath" and "bug my fiends foreva". 4 stars to the location, 2 to the apartment, 1,5 to the owners. Tip for you: maybe if you book with Booking and Airbnb they would treat you better.
