Costantonia Holiday Apartments

This apartment complex is in Aegina, not Crete - TripAdvisor has the wrong address.. The location is great, 2 minutes from the main street and 5 minutes from the beach. The rooms themselves are typical for Agia Marina, simple and no frills but comfortable, so guests shouldn’t expect fancy hotel rooms. The owner is based at and owns the Sugar cafe on the main street which is where the included breakfast is served. Everything else was pretty bad. The check-in time is apparently not what is listed online, so I had to sit and wait nearly an hour for my room to be ready. First night I was put in a different room as apparently the guy in my room was sick and had to have family come collect him. This room (room 1) had no kitchen which is what I booked, and the AC also didn’t work (only worked as a fan), and the WiFi didn’t work either. Next day I had to remove my bags and wait to move into my new room - room 7 (no effort to just move me straight in). I returned later that day to move rooms and the cafe was locked up and no staff on site - I had to find internet, dig out the owner’s number and WhatsApp to ask how to get into my room (they’d left the key in the door…). The second room also had no kitchen so they provided me with kitchen items seen in the photo, not great. Breakfast is basic, two slices of toast, one slice of ham and cheese, dilute orange juice and coffee, and on my last day I was just given the end crust of the loaf. One of the three days I was given yoghurt too which was nice. The staff are OK, not particularly friendly and give off an odd vibe. WiFi is very patchy. The photos online are old and not accurate - there is no gym and cinema and the bar area is dilapidated and looks abandoned - full of rubbish and old furniture - and this is the entrance I had to use to access my (second) room… the rooms are fine but haven’t had any attention paid for decades it seems, old furniture and a TV from the 90s, with dust over most things. Overall this place is best avoided, there are dozens of better places in Agia Marina.
