Axum Hotel Addis

The hotel is around downtown 22. The hotel is busy for local customers specialy on weekends. their service i s fair. It is a budget friendly hotel offering a desk in the rooms, and it is easy to stay connected during your stay as free wifi is offered to guests. The hotel features a concierge and room service. Plus, guests can enjoy a fitness center and free breakfast, which have made this a popular choice among travelers visiting Addis Ababa. For guests with a vehicle, free parking is available.

The room is very old like the hotel and its carpet on the floor , at the check in time they show me 3 rooms I’ll take the one that have the less worse , bathroom without tiles , the broken sink ( see the picture in attached) water leak from the tub. They told me the hotel was full can’t change the room till tomorrow morning , I said ok I will make shower tomorrow morning! after a travel all day by plane wake up 6 am morning. Than in the evening when I came back from outside at 11 pm was very tired and go directly to sleep, until I saw some thing walking on the wall that was COCKROACHS ( see photo attached) they came out from behind the picture and mirror . I call imidiatl the reception and they send me the housekeeper with product and cleaning ! after they spraying an army of cockroaches come out from under the bed . I pick up my thing and run out the room ready for leaving the hotel that’s all in the midnight . searching for a good one hotel, find it and thank for help me , because they came with the shuttle to bring me to the Axum hotel they don’t want refund the money of the night they said I have use the room !!! STAY FAR AWAY from this dilapidated “hotel”. Luckily I didn’t make breakfast with the cockroachs for sure they are also there ( they are vip guest there )

Old style but very comfortable. The rooms a spacious and comfortable. The breakfasts are mostly of local cuisine and satisfying. The price was a find! However, do not book using a booking agent as they cannot accept your booking even though it is offered. Contact directly and you will be fine.
