White Swan Inn

Went on the recommendation of some regulars and was not disappointed. Fantastic menu and everything we had was first class. Staff were great with the kids too. Only wish I hadn’t been driving, good selection of wines and all available by the glass, nice whiskey selection too.

Lovely pub restaurant with boutique style rooms. Very welcoming bar area leading to cost restaurant. Menu reasonably priced with great selection. My calves liver with haggis was delicious as was my wife’s selection. Room very comfortable with complementary cake and drinks. Will be back !!

Wowzas ! I am a regular visitor to this part of the world, for various reasons. It's my favourite county in the UK, so never a chore ! This place is a game changer, and has become my new default place to stay. A two-night break with my mother; she booked it, and I am so glad she did. Warm welcome, great room. Lovely touches in the room such as cake and (I think) sloe gin. All super, but it's the food and the service which really shine here. A brillliant team of waiting staff, every one a pleasure. Not one interaction was iffy. That is a nod to both the quality of the staff themselves and the management's focus and attention. Food ! Woof !!! Total bravo to the kitchen staff. We had dinner two nights. In season ingredients, inventive combinations, beautiful presentation. Just great. A bonus point for the well designed wine list (from C&B), all wines available by the glass. That's delightful from a wine lover's perspective. Really impressive. Well done all concerned, I almost didn't want to write this review. Northumberland is the best-kept-secret in the UK and the fewer people who know the better. The White Swan is the best-kept-secret within the best-kept-secret. Maybe too much on the plate on occasion would be my only observation (not a complaint!)

Stayed here for 2 nights. The room was excellent, clean and a nice touch of cake and port, together with water. Breakfast could not be faulted, great choice. Ate in the dining room on both nights, great choice on the menu and well cooked. Cocktails a bonus. Staff, especially the owner, were welcoming and friendly. Would definitely stay again if in the area.

The bedroom was very chilly considering how bad the month of May has been.It would have been nice to have had it warm on arrival. The food was good on the whole.Helpings very generous. The fruit at breakfast was somewhat unripe. Very friendly staff The atmosphere was good. Very conveniently situated as just off the A1

Exceptional throughout. Welcoming roaring real fire with equally warm welcome from our host. Lovely bright warm well appointed room. Attention to detail 2nd to non. Complimentary cake / rum/ crisps/ fruit/ fresh milk/ sweets/water. Even a Northumberland parking permit was available to use if needed. Excellent menu choices which were presented and cooked to perfection. Breakfast was equally excellent with a wide range of choice - even locally sourced kippers. All accompanied with efficient helpful and friendly staff. Thank you.
