Paloma Hotel Ring Road

Firstly we would like to say that overall we found our visit to the restaurant in the long established Paloma Hotel during our stay in Accra, Ghana to be positive. The restaurant in Paloma Hotel in Kokomlemle is a very cozy and calm place to catch up with loved ones or business associates, with a mellow vibe and a simple but chilled outdoor sitting area with a pool table that has seen better days. The Menu has plenty of options when it comes to food, both traditional and international food. We ordered a mix of different cultures, African, Lebanese and Italian. We had the Jollof rice with chicken on the bone and a standard salad plus a (Special) Jollof rice mixed with vegetables, pasta and diced beef with a boiled egg on top for maximum protein. We also had a pasta arrabiata and the Lebanese salad Fatoush, which was really good. All dishes came in big portions and they were presented nicely. The waiting time for the food was as long as the Northern Line on the Underground train in London. Everything is prepared from scratch, we was waiting roughly 45 minutes for the food to arrive to our table. We was very hungry, so obviously the long waiting time was annoying us abit. But we also appreciated the fact that all the food is prepared fresh. If you are in a rush or have another appointment after your dinner, then we will would suggest you pre order 25 mins before you arrive at restaurant to avoid the wait. We also ordered some cocktails unfortunately the mixologist was having a off day as the drinks were definitely in need of alot of revision in terms of how they tasted to what they are supposed to taste like. As we have visited Paloma Hotel in Kokomlemle, Ghana before in 2018, we was abit disappointed that they have removed the sports bar. This part of the restaurant was a great hang out with the possibility of singing karaoke, dancing, playing pool, watching sports and just catching a vibe and was a great reason to visit in the evenings during the week. In general the restaurant is a clean place, their toilets are kept to a standard level and their restaurant contains a lot of space. If you are visiting Accra in your near future and want a not so quick fresh bite to eat and do not want to test out your stomach strength on too much street food than we recommend you give Paloma Hotel restaurant in Kokomlemle a visit! 🇬🇭

Quite overpriced as per facilities..

Nice accommodation with good services location and good cleaniless There are so many expensive hotels in Accra. Paloma is bit more reasonable and as a tourist on a budget this is more important. The hotel is clean and the rooms are comfortable. I certainly slept well in a very comfy bed. I struggled with the Air Conditioning a bit so tended to just switch it off a night. A ceiling fan would be ideal though I know over times of year it would be much hotter. It was only 23 Degrees at night so much cooler than I'm used to. Very friendly people we like the owners and the staff

This was probably once a nice hotel and I still had a pleasant stay, but it’s former glory days are well over. Location wise it’s fine. 20 mins from airport and 10 mins from Osu and also the main CBD. My room was ok and was kept very clean. The shower room had been recently renovated but there was barely any hot water. There was no safe in my room. I asked to move but they said they were full. I’m 95.% certain they were not. The area seemed pretty safe, but I wouldn’t have walked around after dark. Most of the staff were excellent. I had some wifi issues and the tech guy went out of his way to help. A couple of reception staff were a bit brusk, but not rude. Food wise it was mixed. AWFUL buffet breakfast, but some of the evening meals were delicious. The day/evening menu is extensive. Why can’t they fix the breakfast? The fruit juice was always empty, the “hot” buffet always cold. You make your own tea and coffee with sachets in tiny cups. It was possibly the worst hotel breakfast I’ve ever had. Don’t believe the marketing materials. Some 3rd party websites say they have a spa - they don’t! Some say free airport pick up (there’s a $10 charge). They also say there are a bar, a nightclub and restaurant. They are all one thing! So don’t believe the spin. Lastly and I say this with sadness. There is a deaf and dumb guy who shines shoes. I applaud this kind of offering, but he was so persistent. You couldn’t leave the hotel, eat in the restaurant etc without him asking you for money and telling you his sad stories. I gave him money once but he still persisted. It was really awkward. My heart sank each time I entered the compound. Overall I really enjoyed my stay. Would I book again? Sorry, no!
