Breakfast very nice and delicious with many choices to choose. The room was quite small and old.
Front desk service was very good and polite.
Location very good, near the centre of the city.
Lots of parking space, reservations is not necessary.

Fabulous staff, couldn't be more helpful. Food is wonderful, service great.
Down side is the parking! Sat Nav takes you to the front of the hotel, car park is at the back which is hard to find. The hotel has no instructions on anything, complicated system on getting the lights etc to work. Air con is great but again, no instructions. A simple fix would be to have a folder on how to make things work!
No lifts which for someone with mobility problems is a huge issue.

Stayed in the hotel and also ate dinner and breakfast there. The hotel is an old coaching inn and has a courtyard surrounded by the buildings. The location is good and the place was very popular. Despite hosting a wedding party, there was no impact on our service or the noise levels. Food was good.

The hotel is a rambling old building with twisty corridors and uneven floors. The decor is a little tired but the comfort of the rooms (bed, bath etc) and the good standard of the facilities and cleanliness mean that you overlook a bit of chipped paint. The young man who checked us in was friendly and efficient. The staff in the bar and at breakfast were equally pleasant. The only slight downside were the cold poached eggs in our breakfasts. We didn’t raise it with the staff because we had had enough to eat and didn’t want to request more. We will definitely be returning!

We recently spent the night at The Crown and Thistle in The Honeymoon Room. The room was lovely with the amazing feature bath which was a great idea. The room was a little tired in areas and you could see there had been leak from the room above at some point...shame it had not been repaired to cover this, but I understand this takes time. Overall a lovely experience, with friendly staff..and a lovely breakfast.

We were the Wedding DJs at The Crown and Thistle for Kerrie and Darren last night. From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive, making sure everyone had a fantastic time. The whole event ran smoothly without a hitch, all thanks to the dedicated team behind the scenes. We can't recommend this venue highly enough. Just brilliant!!

This is a very decent hotel and it offers perfectly nice accommodation. The whole place is a bit of a warren of stairs and fire doors and don't expect the floors to be flat - because they aren't. This is just a product of the building structure and many will say it's a charming feature - although walking uphill to the bed is a fairly unique experience. The bathroom was very well appointed and the shower/bath was superb. Lashings of hot water which was like standing under a waterfall at times! The only downsides were that the room was quite dark and it would have been nice to have a towel rail in the bathroom plus some shelf space to put toiletries on... but these are minor gripes. The breakfasts were excellent and the service was second to none. If you're looking for a stopover place when visiting Oxford, then this place would be a good choice.

Really good bar staff, decent prices. Good knowledge from Gavin on the bar recommending drinks to my mates. Good selection of drinks. Venue is great and cosy. Would definitely recommend to anyone in the area. Great vibe from all of the staff.

Arrived here cold and miserable after a long journey. We were greeted by the totally wonderful Youenn who sat us next to the warm fire and brought us drinks. Truly a little piece of heaven! Staying in Abingdon for a couple of days and this will be our go to place. Thank you, Youenn and see you soon!!
