I really enjoyed staying at Dusky Lodge. Friendly staff , cosy room , nice communal areas and the bonus of a spa pool . Excellent value.

1. Prime location, with Great Lake view in front, 200m walk from local supermarket;
2. The facilities are good but also very horrible, really big kitchen and common room for guests to cook and eat, outdoor seats with BBQ setting, all kinds of cooking stuff, etc. but shower on the 1st floor is block and the entire toilet is flooded!!!! The basin is blocked also!!!! Flushing of Toilet sometimes doesn’t work, there is hairdryer;
3. I quite like the room, clean and quiet, there is a small light, usb port, and small cabin and curtain on the bed, 2 lockers for each guest, bed is very comfortable;

I booked Haka House because it was a great rate but I also read great reviews. I wasn't disappointed. It took 5 minutes from the bus stop to walk to Haka House.. On arrival I met the duty manager, he was very friendly and checked me in quickly. My first impression on the way to the room was very clean and ithe place smelled good l. There was a shared bathroom 2 doors down from my room. In the room there was a place to store my bags the bed had a charging station and light. The bed was comfortable and I slept very very well

Leider auch etwas laut und die Hochbetten sind wackelig, sodass man merkt, wenn sich der andere unten bzw oben umdreht.

An absolutely fabulous place. Really playing on yhe history of the building all while still giving privacy, security and fun.
Location is super close to a variety of restaurants, cafes and take-away stores, and a general store for those forgotten small items.
Parking is free but it's a first come, first serve scenario.
I loved staying there and highly recommend to any traveler looking for a funky and reasonably priced accommodation.

Affordable option to stay at mt. cook. However you have to walk around 10-15 minutes to get to the start point of ****** valley or others track. Other than that, everything is perfect. Complete kitchen facilities, even a sauna. my favorite is tv room where you can watch movies, relax and playing table football games.

Very nice location, good for relaxing, 1 km from town center, but so close to the lake by just crossing the street. I would love to stay longer next time.
If you reach late at night, it’s better to contact hotel in advance and ask for map and photos of your room location before. I arrived very late at night from Christchurch (changed transit flight from Auckland). It took me awhile to understand the map, room location and where to park. It was just 1 day after new moon. So, it was very dark. It’s hard for me to figure out the scale of the place and I didn’t see the small cabin at the back from the street.

VVieraskäyttäjäMy friends and I had a great stay at The Bealey Quarter! The motel is situated in Christchurch City, allowing easy access to the tourist sites, whether you're travelling on foot, by car, or by public transport. There are plenty of buses and metro buses that frequently stop right near the accommodation as well!
The staff were very friendly. We had a late flight (that got delayed even later) and ended up having to check in after hours. They were very accommodating with this, and similarly, when we asked for new towels, we received them immediately. Similarly, they were kind enough to allow us to put our luggage in their reception office whilst we went to collect our rental car on the day that we checked out. My only issue is that I had to contact them a few times before I received the late check-in details.
The facilities were lovely. and very clean! The bathroom was private with a shower with good pressure and hot water. The bench and the toilet were a little high, which we were surprised by, but this wasn't a major issue at all! My only recommendation would be to add a ventilation fan to the bathroom, as although there is an open window above the sink, ventilation was still not ideal. The room came with a heater, a really good fan, and very comfy blankets and duvets. We were also provided with glasses and mugs, a selection of tea, coffee, and hot chocolate, a hair dryer, a bin, a little cupboard, desk, chair, and even a bench where our suitcases fit really well. The view of the courtyard was beautiful despite the somewhat miserable weather, and access to the courtyard via the back door meant we could use the hammocks in the nice grassy area :) The back door was a bit tough to open, and we had to actually get the staff to show us how to use it. My only other qualm is that there is no potable water in the rooms themselves. Instead, our keycard allows us to the Lodge (I believe the hostel area), where there's a kitchen and we can fill up.
Overall, we had a great experience here and I definitely recommend the Bealey Quarter to anyone coming to Christchurch. It was so affordable too :))

VVieraskäyttäjäI have previously stayed in this chain of pod hotels and the one up in Auckland was fantastic and I gave a raving review. Perhaps I got these guys on a bad day but I really felt the service had dropped significantly since my First visit a year and a half ago in Auckland.
The main concern I had was the bathroom was pretty disgusting and something that I would definitely not use. You can see the reasons why in the photos that I will post. Mainly there was here all around the place and a lot of dropped water on the floor old products just in the corner even if they were advertise as free it looked disgusting and could be done in a much clean hygienic way. Just needs a bit more quality management in this area.
perhaps I got them at the end of the weekend with low interest in maintaining clean bathrooms but this was just not good.
My second gripe or concern was that inside the pod the electronics of the light and fan were not visible and I took at least 15 minutes to figure out how to actually turn on off the lights and this was only done eventually by accident by me accidentally touching the panel as the back light of the panel was not functioning therefore it was not easy to determine where to turn the light on and off.
My last gripe was that the door needs to be more effectively managed because it still slamming every time someone goes in and Out likely waking everyone in the pods certainly Juan understands in this type of accommodation you have to put up with a bit of noise but this was a little bit out there at 6 am 7 am in the morning.
So overall, a little disappointed, but for the price point it served its purpose.

I had a pleasant stay at **Rosewood Court Motel**. The room was spacious, clean, and well-equipped with all the essentials, including a comfortable bed and a small kitchenette. The Wi-Fi was reliable, and the parking was convenient.
The staff was friendly and accommodating, always ready to help with any requests. The location was also great—close to shops, restaurants, and easy access to the city.
Overall, it’s a good choice for a comfortable and hassle-free stay. I would definitely consider staying here again.

VVieraskäyttäjäWhen I arrived I was told I had an upstairs unit. Unfortunately I had a lot of luggage. Changing to a lower level was not possible. But an offer was made to assist me with the luggage.
I drove towards the unit and there is no available parking close by. I drove back to the front desk and explained my problem. They told me that they could move a car to allow me to park. One of the staff followed me back and took care of finding a space and also delivering a cone so that I could hold the space when I went out to dinner. He also came back to help with the luggage. So great staff! But the lack of parking (because they let people leave their cars there when they fly) would make me reconsider staying again.
I’d booked an Economy studio and was given an Economy two bedroom. Unit was a blend of older and newer features. Bathroom was updated but shower stall looked older and not as clean. Good water pressure.
Ordered breakfast at the on-site Restaurant. The waffles with berry compote & lemon curd was a large portion but very tasty. Great coffee.

TTracy L.I booked a house clearly stated to accommodate five adults, and this was reflected in my booking. However, the system only asked for the names of two guests, so I entered two names. Upon arrival at the reception, I was told I needed to pay an additional $35 per person for the remaining three guests per night, so I paid additional $35x3x2=$210.00. I didn’t have a choice as it’s already dark and chilly cold at Mount Cook on 13 June. It’s dangerous to drive down at 5pm, so we paid.
This was unexpected and disappointing — if the house is meant for five adults, I don’t understand why there’s an extra charge for the full number of guests I originally booked for. It feels misleading and somewhat unethical. I hope the property can clarify this policy and improve the booking process to avoid confusion for future guests.
However, I would like to express the appreciation of Trip.com hotel agent’s help.
