We originally try to find a hotel close by to the cable car to Tianmen. But we chose Junlan hotel instead. about 600m by foot to the cable car. It was agreat choice. Run by a family, the owner, Lisa went up and beyond to help us. She suggested some ideas to explore The national forest and Tianmen Mountain. Even explain it step by step the route we needed to take by map. We went everywhere with bus and she walked us to the bus station and keep checking on us with wechat.
Lisa also helped us book the tickets for the Forest Park and Tianmen mountain and it was a great rate.
She organized the transport too to the station for our last day.
We definitely recommend this hotel.
Food is nearby, also run by another families. We don’t eat pork and yet they will try to fulfill our needs.
Room is quite big for us. Clean, the toilet was also great.
They have an upright piano too which I used it for practice a bit (I’m a pianist).
Will come back next time.

Perfect hotel for exploring the Tianmen mountain, the cableway station is literally just crossing the street. Also perfect for going to the Zhangjiajie park, either south or east gate. The only thing they should improve is the quality of the western breakfast options, for a hotel like this one would expect better quality, but the overall experience was great and I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone.

The hotel location is just a short walk from the ancient town and close to many restaurants and convenient stores. The hotel staffs are welcoming and helpful. Breakfast is good and they provide transport to or from the train station. The room come with a small balcony which is good for smoker and those who wants to enjoy the view. The shower has no partition so the toilet can get a bit wet after a shower.
Overall, a very pleasant stay.

Staying here is like staying at a friends house.
It might not be superclean,
and the breakfast might not be superexciting,
but you are só welcome.
The staff is the most wonderful you'll ever meet on your travels, they help you set routes in the parc (listen to them, they know all the tricks) and try to make your exploring perfect.
The hotel has more of a ”hostel” vibe, then a ”hotel” vibe, but for us, that was a big plus.
You can wash your clothes after a long day exploring the mountaintrails, your bed is supercomfy, the shower is hot and you get a clean towel everyday. The pool is just nice to see, in the winter.. probably nobody swims in it. But yes, beautiful. There is a terrifying glass rooftop terrace, might (for some) also be terrific, but i stayed on my own level, which was cozy and perfect.
Would recommend this place if you like hostels, but also the benefits of a private room, want to explore the national forest and caves, and be able to wash and dry your clothes for your next day adventure.

The hotel staff were extremely friendly and even offered free pickup and drop-off service from the train station. Since the ancient town is a no-vehicle zone, there is about a 5-minute walk from the nearest car drop-off point. We arrived around 7 p.m. on a rainy day, and the hotel owner(美美）and her staff warmly welcomed us with umbrellas, which was very touching.
The hotel is located about 20 meters from the riverside walking path—close enough for convenience, but far enough to avoid noise, making it very quiet at night. I’ve visited many ancient towns in China, but I truly love Phoenix Town. It’s incredibly peaceful and perfect for taking a break from a busy work schedule.
The buildings and walkways are well preserved in their original style, and the shop owners and locals are all very friendly, always ready to help with a smile. I highly recommend Wenliyuan and would definitely visit this lovely town again.

We had such a wonderful stay here! From the moment we arrived, everything felt warm and welcoming—they even kindly picked us up from the train station, which made the journey so much easier. Tian was incredibly kind and helpful, especially when it came to organising our tickets to enter the village.
The hotel itself is perfectly located, just a short and pleasant walk from the Furongzhen scenic area. After a peaceful night’s sleep, we woke up to a delicious Chinese breakfast, which was a lovely way to immerse ourselves in the local culture.
It was a truly special experience for both me and my mum—we couldn’t have asked for a better stay. Highly recommend!

Lovely hotel with excellent service. One of the best hotels I've ever stayed at.
The rooms were very clean, and well stocked with ameneties. The bathroom and shower were spotless. Beds were clean, and sheets and pillows were comfortable.
The location was excellent and I could visit all the places I wanted to go to in Zhangjiajie with ease. Very good food options nearby as well as convenience stores and many Didis available in the area.
Breakfast buffet was delicious and even had a noodle bar which I thoroughly enjoyed. Laundry also available for guests in the hotel. Also there was a gym which was decently well equipped.
Xiao Li was very helpful and kindly organised a mountain facing room for me. She also suggested an itinerary, as well as booked all of my tickets for me and answered questions I had during my stay. This was very helpful as my Chinese isnt very good and it saved me a lot of stress booking.
Overall, an excellent hotel and even better service, made my visit to China very enjoyable, and I will be back next time I visit Zhangjiajie.

”From the very first contact when I made my reservation, the communication was excellent. They arranged a pickup from the station and even greeted me with a detailed map upon arrival. Every day, the staff took time to explain the best routes and helped me book tickets and local transportation. The room was spotless, and the towels were clearly disinfected. The location is perfect—surrounded by shops and restaurants. As a thoughtful touch, they gave me a local souvenir when I checked out. The hotel is newly renovated and decorated so cozily. Highly recommend!”

VVieraskäyttäjäI normally don't like writing reviews but this hotel really deserves more attention. I'm not kidding, this hotel was super value for money and I felt the quality service surpassed even what many luxury 5*star hotels can offer.
1. Tour concierge
Even before our 3d4n stay in Zhangjiajie, I contacted the hotel via WeChat and the hotel helped us plan a comprehensive travel itinerary and booked for us entrance tickets to attractions, airport transfers, a private tour guide etc for a very reasonable package price. All my questions were patiently answered and quickly by the staff. We had a great time in ZJJ without any fuss and with great peace of mind, as everything was planned for us. I felt we had a far more relaxing travel experience with a private tour guide over booking multiple daily group tours as we could travel at our own pace. Literally all we had to do was follow our tour guide.
Room
2. Our room (type: Colorful Brocade Twin Room) was clean and came with a cool smart home system?! We could use it to control room temperature, lighting, curtains, tv, play music and even tell jokes. The room was fairly quiet except occasional noises in the morning, and we are light sleepers. Bed was comfortable. Only minus for me was the fact that the shower, toilet and sink area were all separated so it made changing and placing belongings tricky. Loved the free laundry service - the staff picked up our clothes at night and they were laundered and delivered to our room by the next late morning.
Food
3. We got a personal warm welcome by the staff on our first night's stay. The hotel gave a complimentary afternoon tea set comprising fruits, cakes and nuts daily. The hotel also offered porridge for supper but we didn't try it. Breakfast was 7-11am and the same food daily, standard western/Chinese fare but we easily ordered other coffee nearby to supplement our breakfast. We also used ******* app to order supper daily with the hotel's number. The hotel was able to deliver the delivered food to our room through a robot.
Photography with costume rental
4. I have never encountered a hotel that gave a free photography session with costume rental (no hair or makeup) but this did. I initially thought it was just an indoor studio thing but it turned out to be a full 30min photoshoot indoors and outdoors with the staff giving us instructions on poses very patiently. It felt like I was taking my engagement photoshoot again. We were pleased with the 4 edited photos and all raws.
Overall service
5. The staff were really kind and professional. I felt like they were genies making our stay more worry-free as they always answered our questions patiently over WeChat and helped us with many issues. They even texted to ask what time they could deliver us the free afternoon tea which we kept forgetting about. When we checked out, they even surprised us with a goodie bag with lovely snacks and cute memorabilia!
Location
6. The hotel was literally in front of the ZJJ National Forest Park Wulingyuan East entrance. Don't see how it could be more convenient
Caveats: I could speak both English and Mandarin, and although the staff spoke decent English, I felt the communications were much easier when I used Mandarin to communicate in person or via WeChat (use ChatGPT or some other translator!). The smart home system also worked better with Mandarin although it understood a few languages

點評：我原本預訂的房間在預訂前打過電話，也備註要求，但入住還是出現了問題，中間換了2次房間，但是值得一提的是服務很好，晚上我們到達的晚，酒店前台劉女士一直微笑耐心的在解決問題。早餐種類不多，我9：30下樓吃早餐，有些餐品已經涼了，唯一的葡萄汁也見底了，如果睡眠輕的人一定提前和酒店打招呼，有些房型會有空調噪音，第一次安排的房間淋浴室往外漏水，衞生巾反味，樓上一直咚咚咚的聲音，硬件設施存在問題，噪音音頻無法上傳。
位置：酒店門口有超市，離景點不遠，出酒店不遠就有地鐵2/4號線，比較方便，馬路對面有一家不錯的餐廳。
總體：服務很好，

Location:
We stayed for 6 nights in the Jade Room, and the location couldn’t be better. The hotel is only a short 3-minute walk from Huangxing Pedestrian Street, tucked inside a small alley off the main road. While taxis can’t drop you right at the entrance, the walk is easy and luggage-friendly. The surroundings are quiet at night but still feel very safe. There’s also a nearby corner shop that holds Taobao parcels, which is super convenient, and the reception staff will guide you if needed.
Service:
The service was genuinely outstanding and truly made the stay feel like a home away from home. Communication was clear, warm, and responsive from the beginning. We confirmed our booking via WeChat and received prompt replies along with helpful directions and a clear map.
We arrived past midnight, but the staff kept in touch and reassured us that someone would meet us on arrival. A friendly young gentleman greeted us with a big smile, brought us to our room, and followed up with the passcodes for Wi-Fi and door access (the lobby area locks after 10pm).
Most evenings, they sent a message about homemade desserts available on a first-come-first-serve basis—such a thoughtful touch. They were also extremely helpful when I needed to order food through *******, letting me use the front desk number since I didn’t have a local phone. I was also able to receive Taobao parcels at the hotel, and the staff neatly gathered them for easy pick-up. Truly attentive and heartfelt service throughout.
Cleanliness & Room:
The room had basic amenities and toiletries, which were sufficient for a comfortable stay. However, we couldn’t find a safe or mini fridge— not a deal breaker, but something to note if you’re expecting those features.
The cleaning team was polite and checked in daily to see if we needed housekeeping. Fresh towels and bottled water were consistently provided, which we appreciated. Still, the overall cleaning could have been more thorough. We noticed crumbs and hair on the floor, suggesting that sweeping or vacuuming wasn’t done completely, and there were some shoe marks left in the bathroom. Not major issues, but worth mentioning.
Overall, it was a lovely stay, and despite the minor cleanliness concerns, we would happily rebook this accommodation on our next trip to Changsha.

我们在翡翠房（Jade Room）住了 6 晚，地点真的非常棒。酒店距离黄兴步行街只有大约 3 分钟的步行路程，藏在主街旁的一条小巷里。虽然出租车不能直接把你送到酒店门口，但小巷平坦好走，拖着行李也完全没有问题。周边环境晚上很安静，但仍然非常安全。附近还有一家包裹代收的小店，可以领取淘宝包裹，非常便利，前台也会指导你如何前往。
服务（Service）：
酒店的服务真的非常贴心，让人有一种“家外之家”的感觉。沟通顺畅、友善且回应快速。我们通过微信确认了预订，酒店很快给了回复，并附上了详细的路线说明和清晰的地图。
我们是在深夜抵达的，但他们一路保持联络，告诉我们随时可以联系工作人员。到达后，一位年轻的小哥满脸笑容地迎接我们，带我们到房间，并马上发送了 Wi-Fi 和门禁的密码（酒店前台与客房通道晚上 10 点后会上锁）。
大多数晚上，他们都会发消息告诉我们当天有自制甜点，数量有限、先到先得——非常温馨的小惊喜。当我需要用**点餐时，他们也非常乐于协助，因为我没有中国手机号，他们让我直接填写前台号码作为联系号码。另外，我也收了不少淘宝包裹，前台都会帮忙整理好，让取件变得更方便。整体服务相当贴心、周到。
房间与清洁（Room & Cleanliness）：
房间提供基本的设施与盥洗用品，住起来还是舒适的。不过，我们没有找到保险箱或小冰箱——不是硬性需求，但如果你特别需要这类设备，建议提前确认。
清洁人员每天都会礼貌询问我们是否需要打扫房间，毛巾和瓶装水也都有每天补充，这点非常不错。然而，整体清洁度可以再更细致一些。我们发现地板上有一些面包屑和头发，似乎没有彻底打扫；浴室地面上也有鞋印。虽然不是严重的问题，但仍值得一提。
整体评价：
整体入住体验非常愉快，即便有些许清洁的小问题，我们仍然非常愿意在下次来长沙时再次入住这里。

After looking at countless accommodation options around the Zhangjiajie National Forest Park and its various entrance points, and reading through so many reviews, I chose this hotel and I’m so glad I did as it deserves endless compliments that I don’t know where to begin.
Location - it is situated in a charming rural village very close to the Central Gate of the Zhangjiajie National Forest Park which, after hours of researching, is the best entrance point in my view as there are no queues/crowds, and it is closest to the Bailong elevator whereupon there’s a direct shuttle bus within the park that takes you from the Central Gate directly to the Bailong elevator. The best part is, the hotel provides free pick up and drop off between the hotel and the Central Gate, which is a fantastic service especially if it’s dark by the time you finish exploring the park.
Room - the room was spacious, clean and has the most stunning views of the karst mountains! The room has a smart system which is voice-controlled and a smart toilet, and has very thoughtful touches such as an overhead warmer/ventilation system in the shower area. The airconditioning/heater in each room is individually controlled and not part of a central system. It was great walking around the premises and breathing in fresh air, with their little onsite dog Xiao Bu Dian as a great companion.
Food - whilst there aren’t many food options around given its rural location, those aren’t needed as the hotel has an onsite restaurant and the chef cooks such delicious homecooked/authentic meals, and they even use fresh vegetables grown on their premises! The free breakfast provided is also yummy!
Service - last but not least, the service that all staff members at the hotel provide is excellent! Because I stayed 3 nights, they provided free pick up and drop off between the hotel and the airport/train station, and patiently waited at the train station for me upon my arrival. There are so many itineraries floating around on how to explore the Zhangjiajie National Forest Park that it’s rather overwhelming, but the staff help with planning the route to take and also with purchasing discounted tickets. The manager David also kindly offered his personal details (prior to me checking in) so that I could place my taobao orders for delivery at the hotel (most other hotels in China do not offer that service and require you to use your own details instead, which can sometimes cause issues with deliveries if parcels arrive before checking in). Unbeknownst to me when I placed my taobao orders, courier drivers do not deliver to the hotel due to its rural location, and instead drop parcels off at various collection points (some rather far from the hotel). David and his team patiently collected each one of them for me from various collection points. I even got a free room upgrade. The service of David and his team is simply unrivalled, and I’m truly grateful to them for making my stay so memorable.
In conclusion, I highly recommend this hotel! You will not regret choosing to stay at this hotel!

Hotelli itsessään on erittäin moderni, siisti ja aamiainen on erittäin hyvä. Sänky on mukava, pyyhkeet ovat uskomattoman pehmeitä ja huoneeseen on saatavilla ilmaisia juomia. Hotellin parasta antia ovat vastaanottovirkailijat. He ovat mahtavia! He tekivät matkastamme 100 % paremman. Vaikka tiesimme enemmän tai vähemmän, mitä halusimme tehdä, heidän antamansa tiedot ja neuvot tekivät kokemuksesta paljon ikimuistoisemman. Kysyimme kysymyksiä niin monta kertaa, ja he vastasivat hymyillen, paljon tietoa ja kärsivällisyyttä joka kerta. En voi kiittää heitä tarpeeksi! JJess and familyWe booked this hotel since it was closer to Tiamen mountain. Unfortunately the hotel is very far away from everything else and you don’t have any restaurants nearby except for the hotel restaurant.
When we booked this hotel we got an offer to get:
1 craftsman beer
100 yuan in didi tickets
2 tickets to an exhibition.
Even these we never received, the 100 yuan in didi (taxi) tickets we got when we asked for them and showed them the booking information and even though they saw the booking information in Chinese the didn’t get us the offer that we had paid for.
When we arrived at the hotel which is very grand and look very nice upon arrival they greeted us at the car which is expected for a hotel that grand but that was only the first day they did that. All other times when we got to the hotel no one greeted us, they were all busy talking to each other instead.
We were a family of 2 adults and 2 kids and even though we booked a family room where they know 4 people was staying they gave us only amenities such as towels etc for 2 people so every day we needed to wait and ask for 2 more towels before we took a shower.
We also booked excursions through the hotel to visit Grand Canyon and also Tiamen mountain and paid over 1600 yuan for the whole family with everything included. When we came to Grand Canyon we couldn’t experience what we were there for (the zipline) because it had weight restrictions and when we contacted the sales person from the hotel she didn’t take any responsibility and just blamed everything else instead of saying that she was sorry. The day after we visited Tiamen mountain and here we had also booked a ticket that should have included everything and when we came there it was hidden fees that the sales person from the hotel hadn’t told us. When we contacted her again it was the same response that she blamed everything else instead of taking responsibility for that she hadn’t told us everything that she needed to tell us.
No compensation was given by the hotel and no excuse. When we checked ut the staff said that they would be happy if we could give them a 5 star review and my response was that I will give you a review but it’s not going to be 5 star. When they asked us explain why we did and they blamed it on the language barrier which I don’t buy since all the messages and sales were done through translation app and also through WeChat were you can translate into your own language. It would have been so easy for the hotel to say I’m sorry and for example as a compensation from us you can go down to the buffé restaurant to eat dinner but instead they blamed everything else!
We are world travelers and have been to different cities both in China and also in different country’s around the world and this is one of the hotel were we feel that they had the worst service we have experienced. When we’re coming back we will not stay here again! A fancy hotel that can not live up to the expectations.

There is a shopping mall right next to the hotel in the same building Full of delicious food.
The location is really good.
