Loved the design it’s modern clean and nestled within a very lovely neighbourhood in Jing’an with plenty of dining options around. There’s a huge bathtub and KL toiletries which smelled heavenly. Will definitely stay again if I’m back. Only issue was the aircon as it refuses to cool the room which made it very hard to sleep. It’s still cold out there but I prefer sleeping in cooler temperature snuggled under the duvet. 2nd night it was ok and able to regulate. They have Japanese style toilet with bidet so that’s two thumbs up. Also would be nice to have regular sized coffee cups in the room for making my own coffee / drink. They only have espresso cups and Chinese tea set.

Absolutely loved our stay at Shangri-La! From the moment you arrive, you can feel the high level of service and attention to detail. The hotel truly lives up to its reputation — everything was exceptional. The rooms were beautiful and comfortable, and we were pleasantly surprised with an upgrade, which made our stay even more special. The breakfasts were outstanding — a great variety, fresh products, and even pineapple, which we hadn’t seen in any other hotels during our 10 days across China. The view from the hotel is stunning, and the location is very convenient. There’s a mall right next door, and The Bund is within walking distance, which was perfect for exploring. No complaints at all — truly a luxurious and memorable stay. Highly recommend!

We had some problems with lights and toilet in the room but was solved immediately. Exceptional service from all staff including housekeeping and also from the manager Shirley herself. She went out of the way to post me my jacket when I accidentally left it at the hotel. We enjoyed our room very much - great layout, spacious and we all loved the window sitting that provides views of the bund and the city. Most of our time was spent sitting next to the window enjoying the views while having our meals. The location of the hotel is very close to Nanjing road but also far enough so you can feel more relax vibes offered away from the hustled bustle of the main street. The staff at the front entrance was very helpful with our luggages and all staff always greets us whenever we enter or exit the hotel. Loved this hotel very much and thanks for making our stay so wonderful!

As a couple who has lived in Shanghai together for almost 10 years, with one of us also Shanghainese, we have been to a lot of the best places in Shanghai, and some of the more recommended places in about 20 cities in the broader nearby area. Nothing in the city or within several hours of high-speed rail compares to a stay at Ritz-Carlton Pudong. In Asia and indeed the planet, this impeccable hotel experience stands as an iconic example of old-world elegance and service. In addition, it also offers a unique view of both some of the most modern and tallest buildings and the city’s famed Bund riverside, home to a variety of art deco architectural masterpieces. We had the incredible good fortune to start our honeymoon at the Ritz in Pudong, and this last stay was our last honeymoon treat. As always, it was a spectacular experience that we cannot recommend enough. The most extraordinary part of the stay really is the staff, they are all world class people who go above and beyond to make the Ritz-Carlton Pudong such an exceptional institution in one of the world’s leading cities. Sincere thanks to the whole team for making this happen, including Cherryl, who made reservation delightfully effortless, Chris who helped us to our room, and Joey and Ruby who helped in the evening. Special and heartfelt thanks to the whole team who make the Club Lounge experience world beating: Eddie and Junita, who both lead by example, have a deep passion for the details that create excellence, as well as being just the nicest people. They are both incredibly inspiring leaders and professionals. Claire is generally excellent there but also was phenomenally helpful to get a bag back when it was left behind, we really apricated that. Jeramy and Vivian also are amazing, as are Club Lounge’s chef’s Joe and Austin. Sherry is a real star, attentive, sharp and so helpful. Last but not least, Helen, who was the first person to greet us after we got married, and fittingly the last person to help us create personalised room key cards with our wedding photo on it, and most recently a special photo of family from our honeymoon. Those keycards are really cool keepsakes, but making them is not as simple as you might think: the image is etched into the key, not printed, so the original photo needs to be translated by AI into an image that the etching system is capable of delivering, which is really impressive. When I showed my mom who lives very far away, even she was impressed with Helen’s work. Ordinarily we prioritise new experiences over more of the same, regardless of how comfortable and nice it is. But regardless of how hard we try, we have not been able to figure out a better way to celebrate our biggest moments than a stay at the Ritz in Pudong.

We choose Marriot as our first anniversary hotel. Thanks for the cake arrangement, the cake is delicious! The hotel’s cleanness is satisfying and most of the services is great. You may ask for earlier check in if you’re in red eye flight. Only the ******* delivery you must go down and collect yourself coz the hotel machine is not enough.

The Grand Central Hotel Shanghai is located next to Nanjing road so it’s very central. The decoration of the hotel looks a bit outdated which lots of golden colors and palm trees in the lobby. Upon my arrival the concierge staff helped to take out my luggage from the car and as we were walking inside he wanted to store my luggage and telling me that check in was at 2pm. I arrived at 12pm. I told him I will go to the reception first and brought my luggage with me. The receptionist checked my booked and said the room isn’t ready and asked me to wait. As I was very tired I asked how long I need to wait and he said until 2pm. I asked if I could perhaps double check at 1 pm and he said ok. I checked again at 1pm and the room wasn’t ready. Finally I got the room at about 1:40. The room size was good and the maintenance of the room was ok although a bit worn out but the decoration looks very outdated and makes the room look more old. Moreover, they had some old brochures in the room which doesn’t really apply to today’s needs such as an old Shanghai yellow pages catalogue etc. Furthermore, there was two bottles of water in the room with tags and on the tag it was clearly stated that only two bottles of water is provided per day per room and additional water bottles will be charged at 10RMB per bottle. I think this makes the hotel seem stingy, supposedly stating that it’s a five star hotel. Haven’t encountered this at hotels with lower star ratings that I stayed at. Another issue was that the HBO channel on the TV didn’t work and that was the only foreign channel on the tv for movies so perhaps international travelers wouldn’t have much to watch. My stay was so so.. the most positive aspect being the central location.
