Aankomst in de namiddag, ontvangst bij receptie was prima, alles was goed geregeld. Konden direct naar de kamers en voor het diner een zes persoons tafel reserveren. Dit was voor ons de vijfde keer dat we in The Market verbleven. De ligging is fantastisch aan de Grote Markt met een lekker groot terras ervoor. Heerlijke drukte overdag en ‘s avonds. In de kamers hoor je daar echter niets van. De kamers zijn van alle gemakken voorzien en heel schoon. Het personeel is vriendelijk, behulpzaam en gastvrij. Het ontbijt is heerlijk. Je kunt er ook heerlijk lunchen, borrelen of een koffie drinken met lekker gebak van Westen. Kortom een aanrader en wij komen zeker terug.

From the moment I stepped into The Happy Traveler Hotel, I felt genuinely welcomed. The staff were incredibly friendly, attentive, and always ready to help with a smile, making me feel at home right away. The check-in process was smooth and efficient, and I appreciated how they offered local tips that truly enhanced my stay.
The room was spotless, spacious, and thoughtfully designed with both comfort and practicality in mind. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, the linens fresh, and the bathroom sparkling clean. I especially loved the little touches—like complimentary snacks, quality toiletries, and a cozy reading nook—that made the space feel personal and inviting.
Location-wise, it’s unbeatable. Situated close to key attractions, public transport, and charming cafes, it made exploring the city effortless. Despite being centrally located, my room was wonderfully quiet at night, ensuring a restful sleep after a day of adventure.

When I was about to check out, the receptionist told me that I hadn’t paid the city tax, even though I had already paid it in coins when I checked in. I was surprised at first, but it turned out that the receptionist who checked me in had forgotten to record the payment in their system. Fortunately, everything was sorted out. All good! The staff were very kind and gave me a lower bed because I can’t climb to the upper bed.

Easy connectivity, bus line in front of hotel. Quick 15 min walk to the central station.
Staff was helpful with storage of luggage etc.

之前看寫15平方米，還挺擔心太小房間，不過實際還挺大。每人還送一杯酒和小食。酒店餐廳還不錯，價錢不覺得貴，好像外面同類餐廳差不多，味道不錯。只是有點舊，停車場的門口很窄。

AAnonyymi käyttäjäVery good located hotel. Good for a short weekend trip or a city trip to Groningen. They have a parking area underneath the hotel which costs extra but generally much less than parking on the streets. The rooms are spacious and have everything thing you need. Would be nice to have a fridge though but all in all everything you need for a city hotel. The service is very friendly they have good recommendations for the city and also plan activities or restaurant reservations if you would like to.
All in all 100% recommend for staying in Groningen!

TTimbobGreat hotel close to the centre of Groningen. Particularly appreciated the social space and the table tennis tables! Rooms small and comfortable - we took one with a kitchen which was serviceable. Got a box of utensils and dishes from reception, which was OK, but not that flexible in contents. Would definitely stay here again on our next visit to see family.
Desk staff were helpful and pleasant - cleaning staff very responsive. Everyone was comfortable speaking English.

The bar is excellent, their own beers are also very good, and there's a wide range of others available should you prefer. The food in the restaurant was also pretty good, being tasty and generous. We'll certainly be back!

DDawn.R 芮莉The hotel is very clean with a great location in the centre of the city. The room is spacious and even though there are three beds in the room there is space to move and place suitcases. The room is quiet with ac. Breakfast is 18 euro per person so we decided to walk to Starbucks instead.
